The Browncoat Saloon

Here's how it is...the Earth got used up, but you don't have to be.

If you're feeling bushwhacked, or just a little out of gas, drop by our mighty fine shindig, offering up the best gorram suite this side of Unification Day.

At our saloon, those of you with a heart of gold?or simply seeking a little serenity?can find some mudder's milk, perhaps a Fruity Oaty Bar, and other fine Blue Sun food products, along with Texas hold 'em (a game with no tall plum cards to worry about), music so sweet you might accidentally get married, and the finest menfolk and womenfolk in the 'verse for companionship.

Dong ma? Get the message? Good, because you can't stop the signal.

Now, put on your brown coat, your most cunning hat, or that slinky dress
you've had your eye on, and raise a toast to the Hero of Canton until you've
got your own war stories to share.

We're essentially a Firefly themed, half-western, half-eastern inspired
suite, with component of both saloon and companion's guild. Firefly has
reached far and deep into fandom, inspiring graphic novels, fan films, novelisations, and (obviously) even a feature film. Whedon's work is (as
always) a rich and thrilling medium in which to work, and naturally motivates creativity and inspiration.

Browncoat Saloon Activities: Darts (magnetic - after all, we're not a pirate suite - nobody needs lose an eye), Video Gaming (Red Dead Revolver, Karaoke Revolution) *Firefly*/* Serenity*/*Done the impossible/Mosquito* screenings, Texas Hold 'Em Poker (we provide the dealer, but rest assured, NO ONE plays for money. Prizes of western-style bags of chocolate doubloons are awarded to winners). Traditionally we have had 2 TVs, one in the saloon for gaming, and one in the Companion's Guild for Firefly-related screenings. This year we are working on getting a projection screen to replace one of the TVs.

Browncoat Saloon Menu:
Fortune Cookies, Fruity Oaty Bars, Wasabi Peas, Fortune Cookies, Noodles
(served in Chinese take-out boxes), Iced Green Tea, Mudder's Milk. We may be adding to/modifying this list, but these are the basics that we offer.

Browncoat Saloon Special Events:
Saturday P.M.: Big Damn Sing-a-Long! We hosted this in the saloon last year
to shocking success - live guitars, copies of songbooks for all, and the
good ol' country hits (including The Hero of Canton ;)!). The room was
packed to the point of having to refuse entry, and later spontaneous line
dancing broke out! It lasted for hours, and was the hit of the weekend.
Because really, who *doesn't* know all the words to The Gambler? :)

Sunday, High Noon: Silent Auction Draw - Prizes last year included, but were
not limited to:

Firefly series on DVD
Serenity on DVD
Embroidered Chinese Robe, sz XL
Various Firefly shwag (posters, key chains, buttons)
Browncoat Saloon Staff Tshirt
A Jayne hat

Look for more great suites to come!
